Rejoice in what God is doing

Main Idea:

God works & provides for & through His people under all circumstances

Outline:

1. Paul rejoiced in the Philippians’ concern for & provision of his needs (4:10, 14-20)

2. Paul reckoned with how the Lord enabled him to live with whatever little or much he had (4:11-13)

3. Paul remembered all the believers in Philippi & those with him (including converts in Caesar’s household) (4:21-23)

Glory in Jesus Christ

Main Idea

. Rejoice in the Lord & look out for bad influencers; the ‘true circumcision’ glories in Jesus & not in their qualifications (3:1-3)

Paul, as example

a. He, himself, considered all his qualifications as worthless (3:4-8)

b. He considered gaining & knowing Christ as most worthy (3:8-11)

Seeing God’s Bigger Picture

1. Paul was very hopeful despite his imprisonment (1:12)

  a.   Many were hearing about Jesus,

  in the palace & in all other places (1:13)

  b.   Many were sharing Jesus;

  some with bad & some with good motives (1:14-17)

2. Paul was very joyful despite the various circumstances (1:18a)
